Lectures Don’t Work
Have you noticed that lecturing your teen doesn’t work?
You see the problem and solution very clearly so, of course, you share your wisdom.
Why wouldn’t they want to learn from you?
They always did when they were young.
But now they are a teenager.
Teenagers are very opinionated.
They have an overwhelming desire to figure things out for themselves.
And you want them to do this in the safety of your home.
Before they go to college.
This is uncomfortable to watch.
It’s hard to be patient while they figure things out.
They aren’t going to get it right the first time.
Maybe not the second or third, either.
But you want them to build problem-solving skills.
So they are equipped to handle the more challenging situations in college.
Instead of a lecture, do you know what they want you to say?
“Oh man, that sucks.”
That’s it.
Yes, it can be that simple.
So try this.
It’s an E-ticket ride to feel like the weight on your shoulders lifted and the joy in your house returned.
And who wouldn’t want that?
