It’s Hard to Ask for Help

It’s hard to ask for help.

You think you should instinctively know how to parent your teen.

How can this possibly be true?

Parenting your teen is one of the most complicated challenges you will ever face.

Since kids don’t come with parenting manuals, you are left to rely on your intuition and what you learned from your childhood.

For some children, this works.
But for most, it doesn’t.

For me, parenting intuitively meant expecting my children to do all the “right” things to be accepted and successful. (To be clear, I didn’t realize that’s what I was doing until later.)

I set rules.
I communicated clear expectations.
I got angry when they lied.
I got frustrated when they didn’t take responsibility.
I tried to calm my fears by telling them what they should do.
I gave punitive consequences when they didn’t obey the rules.

This didn’t work.

This created more tension, arguments, and disconnection.

Nothing changed.

I thought, “This is NOT the type of relationship I want with my kids.”

I went searching for a better way.

I found a program where I learned new parenting strategies and tools I had never heard of.

Implementing this newfound knowledge resulted in less tension and conflict and more peace and joy.

It became my mission to share this with as many parents as possible.

You, too, can have the joyful, meaningful relationship with your teen you always imagined.

I’m here to help you.
