When you Invest in Yourself, the Possibilities are Endless

Every Monday morning, I wake up excited to hop on coaching calls with my clients because I know there will inevitably be an “aha” moment as we work together on whatever issues are weighing on them. That is why I love what I do!

I can relate to many of the struggles that come up in these sessions.

Five years ago, I spent much of my time feeling worried, frustrated, and overwhelmed. I listened to the news and felt my energy drain. I felt guilty when I didn’t meet the high expectations I set for myself. Life was so busy it felt like I didn’t have time to breathe.

When I was scared, I told my kids how to solve their problems which they found irritating. When I was annoyed, I blamed outside circumstances. When I felt powerless, I clinged to the hope that things would work out.

Most of us operate that way, but we don’t need to.

When I first learned about the principles of coaching, they made so much sense: how thoughts, feelings, and actions are all connected; that our thoughts are just beliefs and stories in our heads; that we have the power to change our thoughts and reactions to situations.

I imagined the type of life I could create for myself and my family by using these tools.

We don’t have to live in worry or fear about our children’s decisions. Instead, we can find ways to guide and connect with them to create the relationship we really want. By making these shifts and committing to invest in ourselves, we are free emotionally and energetically to improve our connections with the ones we love.

Besides building closer relationships, we are able to make everyday decisions quickly and easily. Having more clarity saves time and money. Breaking the habit of ruminating about things that don’t serve us is a gift we can give ourselves.

We can create the next chapter of our lives filled with meaning and purpose. As a result, our energy and happiness will skyrocket.

When you show up as a happy person, it positively impacts all those around you.

Not only did I start creating the life I wanted, but I started living it too and having more fun while doing it. I dumped my stress and exhaustion and replaced it with joy and meaning in my life. Sharing these concepts with my clients has given me even more purpose and fulfillment.

Is everything perfect now? Absolutely not. But I know I am in charge of my brain and my emotional world.

Does that mean that life never feels out of control? No. But with the right coaching and tools, we can be assured that we are on track to live the life of our dreams.

If that sounds like something you want, get a coach. It will truly be the best investment you will ever make.
